DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- A Volusia County assistant high school football coach has been suspended for dropping a student on his head.

According to Daytona Beach police, Jonathan Brown asked a 15-year-old Mainland High School student, Richard Higgs, to turn off his CD player. When Higgs refused, police say Brown put the student over his shoulder and then dropped him headfirst onto concrete.

The boy lost consciousness and had to go to the hospital.

Brown has been suspended while the incident is being investigated.
